As a partner of the Harlaxton College Program, TWU faculty are sometimes selected to teach at Harlaxton during the summer or semester terms. These visiting faculty appointments provide a unique opportunity for TWU students to form connections with our faculty while living and learning abroad, even if not taking a course directly from that faculty member. The following TWU faculty have accepted visiting faculty appointments at Harlaxton:

SOC 105: INTRODUCTION TO SOCIOLOGY (3 credit hours ) Introduces major concepts used by sociologists to understand and predict the behavior of individuals in group settings.

SOC 230: SOCIAL PROBLEMS IN THE MODERN WORLD (3 credit hours) Focuses on major social, economic, political, and environmental issues confronting the modern world. Covers both global and U.S. issues.

SOC 370: SPECIAL TOPICS IN SOCIOLOGY: SOCIOLOGY OF RELIGION (3 credit hours) Special sociological topics not covered in regular course offerings this course provides greater depth to the study of Sociology of Religion.

PSYC-121 INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY (3 credit hours) Surveys major areas of psychology, including methodology, learning, memory, development, personality, psychopathology, and additional areas. Focuses on historical development, research findings, and applications in contemporary life. Fall, spring, summer.

PSYC-259 ABNORMAL PSYCHOLOGY (3 credit hours) Examines abnormal behavior with emphasis on mood disorders, affective disorders, and schizophrenia. Examines the biological and psychological bases of psychopathology and those factors involved in diagnosis and treatment of mental disorder.

PSYC-416 HUMAN SEXUALITY (3 credit hours) Ron Palomares, Texas Womans University Covers topics related to human sexuality. Includes sexuality research, anatomy, sexual development, sexual identity and orientation, sexual activity, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, love and relationship, sex and the law, and cross-cultural differences. Exposes students to knowledge and attitudes about human sexuality and challenges them to make informed, ethical choices.

ART 492: TOPICAL WORKSHOPS VIDEO STORYTELLING THROUGH EUROPE: CAPUTRING THE BODY ACROSS TIME AND SPACE  (3 credit hours)

With video becoming more and more pervasive as a communication tool, learning how to create top notch visual content is crucial. This video artmaking course will use smartphone video-cameras and the Harlaxton Manor House as the practice ground for developing the camera, lighting and editing techniques necessary for creating non-linear storytelling, focusing on the human form. Working quickly on daily projects, supplemented by an historical overview of video artmaking, as well as field trips to museums and sites, such as the Tate Modern in London, students in this course will develop the skills necessary to use the school-organized and independent trips in the United Kingdom and Europe as the basis for developing their own portfolio of video projects. Suitable both for beginners in video artmaking and artists with extensive experience in time-based media, this course will develop the skills and perspectives necessary to create engaging, expressive video content, no matter the artistic, personal or business context.
