Program Description:

Program Overview

Participants will have the opportunity to connect research project assignments in class with Indonesia health care systems through presenting at an an international symposium. Further, participants will also engage in local cultural tours and activities.



NURS 4902
Focus on the Indonesian culture and improvement of quality of life for the Indonesian population.   Understand the differences and similarities for Indonesians and health/health care issues within Indonesia as opposed to United States citizens and health/health care issues within the USA.  Explore Indonesian cultural implications for health and health care.  Examine the status and role of the nurse in relation to health promotion and care in Indonesia.  Attendance and participation in the 6th International Nursing Conference "The role of nurses in advancing quality of care through application of conceptual models in areas of nursing practices and health", held in Bandung, Java, Indonesia (Texas Woman's University is collaborating with the University of Padjadjaran College of Nursing and several other nursing universities around the world in development of  this conference)
