Spending three weeks immersed in the culture and sounds of five fabulous capitals of classical music in Germany and Austria: Berlin (4 nights), Leipzig (5 nights), Munich (4 nights), Salzburg (2 nights) and Vienna (5 nights). You'll engage with in their customs and charms as you learn what each has contributed to Music History.
Earn 3 credits from Fairfield University taking Music History: Late Baroque to the Romantic Period. The course will focus on Western Music History from roughly 1700-1950, following the lives and contributions of some of the most iconic composers of that era.
You'll stay in student residences or tourist-class hotels on a bed and breakfast basis in each location. Breakfast is included throughout as well as a welcome dinner in Berlin and a farewell dinner in Vienna.
You'll attend annual music festival performances and events. Cultural and social activities include guided tours by local experts, museum visits, excursions to places of historical, academic and cultural interest and live performances.
